LiveChat alternatives: what to use instead of LiveChat by Text
LiveChat is a well-known live chat tool for sales and support teams, made by the Polish company Text (formerly LiveChat Software). People look for LiveChat alternatives when per-seat costs grow with the team, when they want an AI agent to handle more of the conversations, or when the website chat has to guide visitors rather than queue them for an agent. This guide compares the main options fairly.
We make one of the options, Life Inside, so we have tried to say where another tool is the better choice. Facts about other vendors were checked on 3 November 2026 and are listed under sources. More comparisons: all alternatives.
LiveChat vs Life Inside
| What you compare | LiveChat | Life Inside |
|---|---|---|
| Built for | Live chat for teams of human agents, with an AI agent and an AI assistant for agents | Website conversations before a decision: pre-sales questions, recruitment and guidance, with real video |
| Pricing | Per user: from $19 per user per month billed annually at the time of writing (November 2026), with a 14-day free trial | From €249 a month for Interactive Video, €399 for the AI Agent and €449 for both. No lock-in, 3 months' notice. See all plans |
| Answering visitors | Human agents answer, helped by Copilot, and a customer-facing AI agent can take conversations | An AI Chat Agent that answers only from content you approve, and says so when it does not know |
| Live chat with your team | Yes: this is the core of the product | No live takeover. The agent points visitors to the right contact or booking link |
| Text chat and video in the same flow | Text chat between visitors, agents and the AI agent | Yes. The visitor chats in text, and when it helps the agent shows a short interactive video in the same window, then the chat carries on |
| Tickets and chatbot builder | Sold as separate products from the same company: HelpDesk for tickets and ChatBot for automation | No ticketing. One agent answers, guides and hands leads to your CRM |
| Conversation analytics | Reports inside the app, with more advanced reporting on higher plans | AgentLoop: topics, sentiment, lead scoring, knowledge gaps with suggested fixes |
LiveChat alternatives at a glance
tawk.to
Best for: Teams that need live chat at no cost
tawk.to gives its live chat, ticketing, knowledge base and contact management away for free, with no limit on agents or chats. You pay only for extras, such as removing its branding, hired chat agents by the hour, or AI Assist, which has a free plan and paid tiers by message credits.
Tidio
Best for: Small businesses and online shops that want low-cost chat with AI
Tidio offers live chat, ticketing and Lyro, an AI agent that answers from your support content. There is a free plan, and Lyro is priced by AI conversations. See our Tidio alternative guide for when it fits.
Crisp
Best for: Teams that want a shared inbox priced per workspace, built in Europe
Crisp, built in France, offers live chat, a shared inbox and an AI agent called Hugo. Plans are priced per workspace rather than per seat. The free plan has 2 seats but no AI credits; paid plans include AI credits.
Intercom
Best for: Growing support teams that need a full helpdesk and a strong AI agent
Intercom combines a Messenger, inbox, ticketing and help centre with Fin, its AI agent, at $0.99 per outcome plus helpdesk seats at the time of writing (November 2026). Read our Intercom alternative page for when it fits.
HubSpot
Best for: Teams that already use HubSpot as their CRM
HubSpot's live chat starts free, with HubSpot branding, and conversations land in a shared inbox in the CRM. On Professional and Enterprise, its customer agent costs $0.50 per resolved conversation in HubSpot Credits at the time of writing (November 2026).
Life Inside
Best for: Teams that want an AI agent to answer and guide visitors, with real video in the same chat
Life Inside's AI Chat Agent answers from content you approve in 60+ languages and guides visitors to the next step. When it helps, it shows a short interactive video of your real people in the same window. AgentLoop pushes leads to HubSpot and Salesforce. It has no live-chat inbox.
Why teams look for LiveChat competitors
- Per-user pricing. Every person who answers chats needs a paid seat, so the bill grows with the team.
- Several products to combine. Tickets (HelpDesk) and chatbot automation (ChatBot) are separate products from the same company, each with its own plan.
- Fewer people answering. Some teams want an AI agent to handle most conversations, rather than staff waiting for chats.
- A changing product. The company now presents its chat as Text on livechat.com, so existing customers are comparing plans anyway.
How to choose a LiveChat alternative
- If your team answers chats live all day, stay with a live chat tool: tawk.to if budget comes first, Crisp or Tidio for small teams, Intercom or HubSpot for larger ones.
- If you want one tool for chat and tickets, Intercom, Tidio and HubSpot keep both in one inbox.
- If visitors mostly ask the same questions before they buy, apply or book, an AI agent that answers from your own content does most of the work, and nobody has to sit in a chat queue.
- Check languages, data hosting and contracts. If you sell in Europe, ask where data is stored and whether you get a data processing agreement.
Is Life Inside a good LiveChat alternative?
Only if you want the AI to do the talking. Life Inside has no live-chat inbox, so if your team takes over chats in real time, a live chat tool is the better choice. Some teams keep their live chat for support and use Life Inside on sales, product or career pages.
The AI Chat Agent answers from your website, documents and FAQs, only from content you approve, in the language the visitor writes in. When it does not know, it says so, and the gap shows up in AgentLoop with a suggested fix.
The difference from a text-only chat is that the same conversation can include your people on video. The visitor chats in text, and when it helps the agent shows a short video in the same window. In e-commerce that is a product video when a shopper asks how something works. In real estate, after the first questions, the agent shows a video from the agent responsible for the listing and then helps the visitor book a viewing. On customer sites, up to 15% of visitors click the widget.
Setup is one JavaScript snippet, most agents go live within a day, and Life Inside builds the knowledge base with you. Data is hosted in the EU, with a data processing agreement, and there is no lock-in, with 3 months' notice. Book a demo to see it answer from your own content.
Moving from LiveChat
- Check your renewal date and how much notice your plan needs.
- Export chat transcripts you need to keep, and note any canned responses worth reusing.
- Pull the most common questions from recent chats. Your new tool must answer them well on day one.
- Test the replacement on a few pages while LiveChat still runs elsewhere.
- Remove the LiveChat snippet from every page where the new tool takes over.
- Update CRM fields and reports that refer to LiveChat as a lead source.
